A former German Army Colonel, he served as head of the offices of the Chiefs of Staff of the SACEUR (Supreme Allied Commander Europe) from 2006 to 2009. Kiesewetter is a prominent voice and strong advocate for Ukraine, standing firmly in support of Ukrainian sovereignty and independence.
