On today's all new cast, we take a look back at the Billboard Modern Rock Chart for this week back on July 4, 1998. We go over all 40 songs on the chart, and how all the tracks on this chart perfectly encapsulated the look and feel of the late 90's era with Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" moving into the #1 spot for the first time, and how it ushered in a whole new era of sonic bliss for many music fans. We encounter such riveting hits like Harvey Danger's "Flagpole Sitta", Fastball's "The Way", Eve 6's "Inside Out", Barenaked Ladies "One Week", and so many other terrific tunes that were a constant presence on our mixtapes way back when. We also play a local song that featured on this chart from Somerville's own Guster called "Airport Song".
