Manage episode 502245854 series 2653121
Irish comedian Emma Doran embarked on her first ever stand-up gig while on maternity leave, that evening she won best act of the night and has been gigging non-stop since. Emma has garnered over 318k followers on social media for her stand up clips and sketches. In 2022 her debut nationwide Ireland stand up tour “Mad Isn’t It” was a sell out with seven dates at Dublin’s Vicar Street. In the same year Emma co-wrote and starred in sketch show “No Worries if Not” on RTE, the second series of which was released in January 2025. Other TV Credits include, Modern Love Amazon Prime, The Deirdre O’Kane Show SKY, Bridget and Eamon RTE, Callan Kicks RTE, Republic Of Telly RTE, Irelands Fittest Family RTE, Celebrity Gogglebox Virgin Media, Last One Laughing Amazon Prime and The Tommy Tiernan Show RTE. Emma currently co-hosts the podcast Keep It Tight with Deirdre O’Kane and her book Mad Isn’t It was published by Gill Books in 2024 to critical acclaim, reaching number 4 on the bestseller list. It is a hilarious and moving memoir about family, friendship, (young) motherhood and taking risks. Emma has recently wrapped her biggest tour to date with Dilemma, which sold over 20,000 tickets across 60+ shows (including six sell-out nights at Vicar Street and two sell-out London Leicester Square Theatre dates) and was extended due to popular demand. Her highly anticipated latest stand-up show, Emmaculate, will be touring the UK and Ireland with Emma performing over 50 dates across Autumn 2025 and Spring 2026 .
Emma Doran is our guest in episode 520 of My Time Capsule and chats to Michael Fenton Stevens about the five things she'd like to put in a time capsule; four she’d like to preserve and one she’d like to bury and never have to think about again .
