Nebraska Lawmakers gathered for a hearing February 24th, 2025 to discuss legislative bill 691. If the bill is passed into law it would require all schools in Nebraska to display the Ten Commandments. The bill is modeled after a recent Louisiana bill that was passed into law. Supporters like Senator Dave Murman argue the commandments are important to understanding the nation's history and moral code. Opponents argue the bill is unconstitutional and would bring nothing of value to the classroom.
