It’s a new year, and there’s a new radio voice of the New York Yankees. Dave Sims is stepping into the booth alongside Suzyn Waldman this year, replacing the team’s longtime play-by-play man John Sterling. Despite years spent calling Mariners games in Seattle, Sims has strong roots in the New York area, and as he tells Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz, he can’t wait to get to work in just a few weeks.
