"Elio" is the latest film from Disney Pixar. The story follows an eleven-year-old boy named Elio Solis, who accidentally becomes the intergalactic ambassador of planet Earth after being beamed up to the Communiverse by aliens for making contact. He must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms and navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions. Directed by Domee Shi ("Turning Red"), Madeline Sharafian ("Burrow"), and Adrian Molina ("Coco" co-director) and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, it stars the voices of Yonas Kibreab, Zoe Saldaña, Remy Edgerly, Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil, and Shirley Henderson. We were fortunate to be invited to Pixar Studios where we got a behind-the-scenes first look at the making of the film and conducted interviews with Directors Shi & Sharafian, Producer Drumm, Lighting Art Director Ernesto Nemesio, Sets Supervisor David Luoh, Production Designer Harley Jessup, Visual Effects Supervisor Claudia Chung Sanli, and Animation Supervisors Jude Brownbill & Travis Hathaway, which you can listen to below.
