Mike Gilliland is the co-founder of Future Thinkers and The Portal DAO. At present-day, he is building a smart village in Canada along with his partner & family. In this episode, Peth and Mike talk about his vision of regenerative living and how to make bridges between the virtual and the physical realm.

Mike explained how they plan to use the village space as experimental ground, not only for regenerative experiments but for living. Therefore, the smart village will also be an experiment in governance and living in a healthy and holistic way. “We want to create a culture of willingness to fail and try things out. The Portal DAO will be responsible for suggesting a lot of these different experiments and participants will benefit”.

Some of the topics:

  • The beginnings of the Future Thinkers podcast
  • Shadow work as foundational work
  • How the smart village project started
  • Virtual reality as a replica of the physical world
  • The Portal DAO?
  • Funding experiments & cultural projects
  • AI to enhance abilities for creativity and personal development

According to Mike, it all starts with facing your own demons and the dark parts of the world, looking at environmental and economic collapse. Then aligning yourself & taking action - not out of desperation, but duty.
