Sean Esbjörn-Hargens
Sean has been a global leader in developing “metaintegral” approaches to various disciplines and has been developing the new field of Exo Studies – exploring the implications of anomalous realities and experiences for our understanding the nature of reality. He published Our Wild Kosmos, where he explores the topic of the ontological status of Non-human Intelligences (NHI).
Currently, he is the Dean of Integral Education at the California Institute for Human Sciences (CIHS). Also, at CIHS he is the Program Director of the online MA/PHD program in Integral Noetic Sciences and runs the Center for Anomalous and Noetic Studies. This program is the only accredited program on Earth that offers a concentration in UAP and Consciousness Studies.
In partnership with CIHS, in 2024 he launched a new global research project on Super Experiencers exploring the multiple types of anomalous and noetic experiences people have. This project includes a survey, in-depth interviews, and brain imaging of Super Experiencers. Sean has also had his fair share of wild and weird first-person "exo" experiences, which makes this exploration personally salient and meaningful.
