What motivates men?
Needs and wants are motivators.
So are rewards.
For podcast purposes we have broken down some of these needs and wants and rewards into categories.
Today's podcast we talk about External Motivators, Internal Motivators, and Supernal Motivators.
Each of the 3 areas can be broken down into subcategories or facets.
Under External Motivators: Physical, Sexual, Financial, Material, Recreational
Under Interal Motivators: Mental, Emotional, Social, Political, Moral
Under Supernal Motivators: Spiritual, Theological, Marital, Parental, Personal
These categories can be likened to the 18 wheels on a semi truck.
Consider the weight balance and necessary tire pressure on the 18 wheels. All of the eighteen tires are necessary but if one tire has a blow out, the remaining tires can manage the load until the tire can be repaired or replaced. If each tire represented
a need, having several flat tires would negatively affect the a balance in the system. If the blown tire is neglected and other tires eventually blow as well, the rig would be stranded.
You could easily over exaggerate a few areas while neglecting others. You could be physically fit for example, but socially inept. You could be in shape financially, but an absent husband or father. You could even excel spiritually and intellectually but be emotionally unstable.
Listen and discover ways you can improve character as you focus on the facets of your life that move you.
And make sure you get colon cancer screening!
