Frustration is building over a lack of progress on upgrading the public toilets in Donegal Town.

It had been hoped that the work would have been done ahead of the summer months and while money has been sanctioned for the project, the tendering process is said to be taking longer than was first anticipated.

Fianna Fail Cllr Michael Naughton says there seems to be too much paperwork involved in small projects and that is resulting in a huge delay.

He says the work itself wouldn't take long to do and has questioned why it's not happening at a much quicker pace:
