How Artists Are Adapting During COVID-19
Manage episode 311431072 series 3121935
This week, we’re tackling a pressing topic at a time like this: how artists are adjusting in the context of COVID-19. For musicians, artists, tour teams, and other team members, the economic disruption caused by COVID-19 has led to cancellations and postponements of virtually all gigs, tours, and festivals for at least the next couple months. This has resulted in a major upheaval in both music creators’ ability to earn a living and the music industry at large. Without in-person live shows, artists are now facing a new trajectory for how to engage with their audiences, and many are turning to one particular online tool: livestreaming. I had the pleasure of speaking with Juno-award winning artist Dan Mangan and emerging artist Kubla about how their adapting and utilizing livestreaming as artists. I hope you enjoy our conversations as much as I did! Wishing everyone health and safety at this difficult time.
