Colonel Palmer arrives from London to meet with OSS Agents Captain Daggett and Lance Corporal Barnes at the dock before starting their mission. The Colonel says "your torpedo boat shall depart in twenty minutes. You should reach Saint-Nazaire in occupied France just before dawn. Once you have landed, you will move inland exactly six kilometers. There, you will be met by an agent of the Marquis. Do you understand?" The agents knew this mission is important. German U-Boats are hitting convoys in the Atlantic, causing significant losses in men, material, and supplies. The best way to reduce these losses is to locate the German submarine installations along the French coastline and radio the information back to England so that the Allied Air Forces would know where to attack.
