A conversation is taking place in the Liverpool station master's office, occupied by Mr. James Bland. He is speaking with Mr. Gomez and Mr. Castle, who is telling him that they have just arrived from Central America, and it is imperative that he and his companion reach London as soon as possible, in order to arrange passage across the channel to France. Mr. Bland says "there will be a train leaving at 6 o'clock". Castle says "that train will not be soon enough". I have been informed that it is possible to charter a special train on occasion". Bland says "it is possible, but expensive". The special train is made ready, and pulls out of the station. However, it never reaches London, completely disappearing somewhere along the route.
