In a small furnished room on the east side of Manhattan, Carl Hoffman and his associate Sheffield are impatiently waiting for Janet to appear, but she is an hour late. When she finally arrives, she tells them that she has not gotten the information they need from Harry Jensen, yet, but would try again at their meeting tonight. Sheffield tells her that time is running short, because Vince Dario from Toledo will be here tomorrow. Later that night, Janet and Harry are at a nightclub, and Harry is getting very intoxicated. Just before he passes out, he finally tells her the information they need. He will be delivering the 80,000 dollar payroll to the McGill Company, at 2 o'clock on Friday.
