In this episode, we sit down with Heidi Sampson, a dedicated advocate for parents’ rights and education reform. Heidi shares her journey from homeschooling advocate to serving on the Maine State Board of Education and as a Maine State Representative for four terms. Today, she mentors school board members and champions parental influence in public education.

Heidi introduces the Maine Education Initiative, an organization she co-founded to support school board members in navigating their roles and advocating for policies that prioritize parental rights and local decision-making. We discuss the historical shifts in education, the challenges posed by centralized agendas, and the need for a return to foundational principles of academic excellence and civic education.
