His family's tradition of BBQ goes back more than 8 decades in Palm Beach County, but keeping that tradition alive has been hard-fought and expensive! If you haven't tasted McCray's Backyard BBQ, you haven't lived. He has cooked for locals, dignitaries, and elected officials and is a favorite at the Super Bowl every year. But the town of Mangonia Park levied hundreds of thousands of dollars of fines on Derrick McCray over his 45th Street location, which started with a trailer and is now the first permanent brick-and-mortar restaurant for this family with an 85-year history of cooking up BBQ in their backyard. McCray fought the town for years and is finally realizing his dream of opening his family's first restaurant at 1521 45th Street in Mangonia Park. Listen to why Derrick McCray is one of the most adaptable People of Palm Beach...
