University of Alabama Percussion Professor and Epoch Percussion Quartet member Andrew Lynge stops by to talk about his job at Alabama and working through the pandemic (02:15), his percussion ensemble performing at PASIC twice in the last few years (18:45), Epoch Percussion (25:10), growing up near Dallas (32:00), going the Texas A&M-Commerce for undergrad and doing DCI (41:10) his master’s degree time at Colorado State (52:40), his doctoral years at the University of Texas at Austin, teaching at Commerce as an adjunct and his first job at Jacksonville State University (AL) (01:03:50), and settles into the Random Ass Questions, including segments on being a complete percussionist, bad jobs, his varying taste in movies, Cormac McCarthy, and The Bear (01:26:00).
