SEPTA riders bare the brunt of the first day of impact as those so-called "doomsday" sweeping cuts to service take effect. KYW Newsradio's Shara Dae Howard spoke with commuters who have a lot to say. ### A midday Phillies game without express trains was the first of many tests for the trimmed down system. KYW Newsradio's Nigel Thompson spoke to some fans about how they’re adjusting. ### Just like SEPTA, New Jersey Transit needs cash. Officials there are now exploring their options, including selling or leasing some of its extensive real estate holdings. Details from KYW Newsradio's South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty. ### At least three people were killed, others wounded in several shootings across Philadelphia overnight. Police say the most recent happened close to 3 a.m. on West Ruscomb Street in Logan. Police say several men were on the sidewalk when someone walked up and opened fire. One man was killed after he shot back at the gunman. The shooter was hit in the leg. A second man was hurt -- his condition is unknown. The shooter took off running. Earlier in the morning, a man was found shot and killed not far up the road in the Fern Rock neighborhood. Police say it happened just before one o'clock at Warnock Street and Spencer Avenue. And minutes before that, a man in his 30s was killed after he was shot in the head in Kensington. This was at the intersection of E and East Thayer Streets. No arrests have been made in any of these shootings. ### Runners were off to the races in South Philly this morning for the Philly 10-K run. Hundreds of participants started at 8th and South Streets and ran the 6-point-2-mile course through the streets of South Philly, going through some of the more popular spots to run in the city. Rebecca McLaughlin says motivation from her friend prompted her to sign up and run this race for the first time in a decade The runners finished up at 5th and South Streets and celebrated with a post-race festival, filled with live music, local vendors and more.
