Burnout is more than exhaustion—it’s a sign something needs to change. By addressing these Five C’s, you can take control of your well-being:

  1. Conditions – Is your work environment fuelling stress? From heavy workloads to constant noise, pinpoint what’s draining you and make adjustments where possible.
  2. Culture – Does your workplace respect work-life balance? If there’s pressure to always be “on” or guilt around taking time off, set clear boundaries and advocate for change.
  3. Convictions – Are perfectionism, people-pleasing, or overcommitment driving your burnout? Challenge these mindsets and redefine success in a way that supports your well-being.
  4. Choices – Are you setting boundaries or constantly overextending yourself? Start saying “no” to things that don’t serve you and prioritize what truly matters.
  5. Capacity – Are you running on empty—physically, mentally, or emotionally? Recognize when you need rest and make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine.
