Askari Metals Ltd (ASX:AS2) executive director Gino D’Anna talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s expanding exploration footprint in Africa. Askari Metals Limited is targeting opportunities across lithium, tin, tantalum, rubidium and gold, with a strategic focus on Namibia and Ethiopia. Executive director Gino D’Anna said the company’s Uis project in Namibia remains its flagship asset due to its proximity to the long-standing Uis Tin Mine and access to key infrastructure including deepwater ports. “What we’re seeing at Uis from an exploration perspective is large, scalable pegmatite, which are providing polymetallic mineralisation,” D’Anna said, noting strong results including up to 4% tin and nearly 6,000 ppm tantalum. D’Anna highlighted that Uis remains significantly underexplored and is now showing potential beyond lithium, with attention shifting to tin, tantalum, and rubidium. On Ethiopia, he described it as an exciting, underexplored jurisdiction with favourable mining legislation. Askari is exploring the Wayu Boda area along the Adola Greenstone Belt, which lies near multi-million-ounce gold deposits. D’Anna added that Ethiopia presents “the land of giants,” and offers strong geological promise. He also flagged active due diligence on advanced brownfields gold projects as part of the company’s strategy to build out its gold position. D’Anna said investors can expect steady news flow from both Namibia and Ethiopia as drilling and early exploration works ramp up. Visit Proactive’s YouTube channel for more interviews like this one.
