Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL, VFEX:CMCL) Vice President of Technical Services Craig Harvey talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest drilling results from the Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe. Harvey highlighted that the company has encountered strong mineral grades and widths from its ongoing deep drilling campaign. “Most of these holes that we've drilled at the moment are actually continuous zones of very, very good grades,” he said, emphasising the quality of the intersections. A key update was the discovery of a new orebody that does not align with existing known structures at the mine. The recent drill results not only reinforce previous findings from January 2024 but show improvements in grade and width with increasing depth. Harvey explained that these outcomes support Caledonia’s strategy of maintaining a rolling ten-year reserve life. The drilling efforts have reached as deep as the mine’s 34 level, around 1,100m below surface. Plans are underway to extend drilling even further below, particularly targeting core ore bodies like Blanket and AR Main. Caledonia is also exploring the Lima orebody, with drilling extending below the 22 level. These results could support continued mining operations and future development, strengthening the company’s long-term production outlook.
