Mass society thrives on simple ideas and superficial thinking. The western mass media is an enemy like no other, partly based on ignorance, partly on malice. The mercenary armies that overthrew Assad, especially ISIS, are merely proxies of the Regime that would not exist had not the western powers created them. Refusing to grasp this, “journalists” and "public intellectuals" have come up with increasingly absurd theories based mostly around self-righteousness, virtue signaling, projection, misinformation and wishful thinking. The major articles on this topic suffer from a syndrome where the reliance on the mainstream media and the desire to "fit in" overrides elementary logic. The Syrian case is a painful example, made worse by the endlessly fluid and complex array of military forces and their sponsors. After five months without Assad, what is the Regime doing in Syria and why?
