What kind of playground did you spend your childhood in? They've changed a lot over the years. At one point, some seemed, well, pretty boring.
Trampolines, on the other hand, were thrilling but felt like accidents waiting to happen.
Today, thanks to the work of Professor David Eager and others, those trampolines come with safety nets, and you're much less likely to get your fingers or limbs stuck in the springs. Meanwhile, for playgrounds, risky play is in and hazards are out.
