So, how did I discover YouTube and its power for my law firm? From 2011 - 2020, I played the traditional website, SEO and local ads game trying to compete with other attorneys in my local area to fight for leads. There were some months that I felt like I was winning and saw a steady increase in business followed by an algorithm change from Google that would slow me back down.
I learned that YouTube was the 2nd largest search engine in the world and I started researching and was shocked to find that only 2 lawyers in my local area were experimenting with YouTube and only 1 of them had any idea of how to use YouTube to get paying clients.
I am going to now give you the 5 step process than can blow up your law firm with leads and not just for a month or two but for years to come:
Start Narrow
SEO your videos for practice area and geography
Make it easy for people to find you
Go Broad to build your brand
Become an authority in your field and monetize your brand
Finally, as you build your brand, your channel, your reach and your influence you will learn that other creators will want to collaborate with you.
But even as a lawyer, I have seen months where the channel easily makes more than 5 figures per month and well into 6 figures for the year. But more importantly, it is the media arm of your law firm and you have an audience you can educate, nurture, sell your services to and grow your influence.
