Drawing on the scholarship of Dr. Daniel Wallace and Dr. Emanuel Tov—two of the most respected textual critics—I explore whether the Old Testament has truly been preserved in the way Sola Scriptura requires. Both Wallace and Tov offer positions that, when taken seriously, present major challenges to the Protestant principle of Scripture alone. I contrast this with the Catholic view on the preservation of the Word of God, which does not rely solely on the text but includes Sacred Tradition and the Magisterium. Join me as I unpack the implications of modern textual criticism for Protestantism and make the case for the Catholic understanding of divine revelation.
