Gospel Proclamation: Warning the Wicked, Reassuring the Righteous

The last three (of 7) scenes of this fourth (of 7) acts of Revelation move toward the consummation/victory of Christ at 2nd Coming. ---scene 5: Ch14:6-13 and the Proclamation to Earth-dwellers of the Judgment to Come ---scene 6: Ch14:14-20 and the Actual Judgment and Harvest of Souls at 2nd Coming. ---scene 7: Ch15:1-4 and the Victory and Worship that Follows Revelation 14:6-13 is the fifth scene of the fourth act of the book, and it is the Proclamation by 3 Angels of Judgment to Come at Any Time. We will see 3 Angels give 3 Warnings to those who dwell on the earth, and 3 Encouragements voiced to saints who reign in heaven and are citizens there. Beale: "God will judge the world system and nations who give allegiance to antichristian forces, but He will give an eternal reward to the faithful who persevere through oppression." Revelation 14:6-13 – Warning the Wicked, Reassuring the Righteous I. Three Warnings for Earth-dwellers (vv6-11) ---A. Warning of Everlasting Gospel (vv6-7) ----------Repent now… ---B. Warning of Babylon's Fall (v8) ----------…for Dragon, Beasts, Babylon, whom you worship, already judged… ---C. Warning of Everlasting Torment and No Rest (vv9-11) ----------…and so will you be, unless you Repent. II. Three Encouragements for Heaven-citizens (vv12-13) ---A. Encouragement of Endurance (v12) ----------Keep the commandments and cling to Christ. ---B. Encouragement of Death in the Lord (v13a) ----------You are forever united to Christ. ---C. Encouragement of Rest and Works (v13b) ----------Christ's works bring eternal rest and produce our works that remain and are rewarded.
