What was it like to install the Gold Leaf Performance 4RS intake on a 981?

I didn't have a great deal of choice last week. I wore the same scruffy garage clothes for days on end, bounced from day job to the Renngineering Cayman build, and back again.

I set myself the target of collecting and fitting the beautifully designed and made GT4 RS style intake system on my car within a week. A lofty goal, particularly because I'm absolutely anal about getting things right. Close just ain't good enough.

I didn't quite hit my one week goal but only by a day.

Putting it simply - I couldn't be happier.

I learned something in the process. All you need to do to have a successful reel is post up a short clip of a car revving to the redline. OK, I'm reasonably sure a Mitsubishi Galant 2.0 from 1994 wouldn't quite have got people excited but this certainly did.

I've since put 250 miles on the car and it's perfect. Everything works just as it should. Sounds immense. Looks even better. I'm a particular fan of the spec I chose as well,

  • Agate grey side window pods
  • Matte carbon throughout
  • Gold pinstripe on the engine cover

In this episode I also pick up on the next few episodes being shot and some potentially game-changing news for Renngineering, that could... be the start of the shift towards it being a full time job.

I'll take a moment to thank you all for listening so far. I appreciate all of you and always welcome your comments, questions and thoughts. Just drop me a DM or email.
