Our first CES 2025 Highlights show featured three Vision Tech expert speakers.
Cornel introduced .lumen, a self-driving headset for the visually impaired, which uses haptics and audio feedback, aiming for a cost of about $10,000. .lumen was part of the Nvidia Inception program in 2021.
Roland discussed eSight, a $4,950 device for central vision loss, fully reimbursed by Veteran Affairs. And described the robust eSight user community.
Bryan highlighted Lighthouse Guild's services, including medical, rehabilitation, and technology resources, emphasizing the importance of community and advocacy for the visually impaired.
Our discussion also covered the prevalence of vision loss as we age, especially macular degeneration, and the need for early detection. Bryan also explained the difference between the Glide device from Guidance and .lumen which both use haptics.
