In this episode, we are discussing pure metals.

Pure metals possess large, interconnected structures held together by powerful electrostatic attractions between positively charged ions and freely moving electrons.

These consistent arrangements of identically sized ions in layers contribute to characteristic properties.

Consequently, the strength of these metallic bonds results in elevated melting and boiling temperatures.

Furthermore, the layered structure allows ions to slide past one another without breaking these bonds, explaining why pure metals are typically soft and easily shaped.
