In this episode we discuss the Weimar Republic's collapse during the Great Depression and the subsequent rise of the Nazi Party.

It highlights the government's ineffectiveness in addressing economic problems like unemployment, exacerbated by the terms of Versailles. The rise of the Nazi party is shown through election results from 1928 to 1932. It also points to President Hindenburg's use of Article 48, which undermined the democratic process. Additionally, the alliance between the Nazis and the conservative DNVP, led by Alfred Hugenberg, helped boost Nazi popularity.

Finally, it explains the secret pact between von Papen, Hindenburg, and wealthy industrialists, who mistakenly believed they could control Hitler as Chancellor.
