For decades, astronomers have known the mighty Andromeda Galaxy is hurtling towards our Milky Way at 110 kilometres per second, the two destined to collide in five billion years to create a new galaxy - Milkomeda.
But now, new research has revealed that this collision may not be as certain as scientists once thought.
