Aussie researchers develop new way to tackle e-waste

E-waste covers things such as sim cards, e-cigarettes, and air-conditioning units, and adds up to half a million tonnes of waste annually in Australia.

That's about 20 kilograms for each person, according to the federal government's national waste report.

Now an Australian research team has developed a safer and more sustainable approach to extract and recover gold from this electronic waste.
