The owner of two major smelters in Tasmania and South Australia says it needs government help within "weeks" in order to stay afloat, casting a cloud over hundreds of jobs.
Nyrstar Australia says it's losing tens of millions of dollars a month, blaming "market distortion" from China and warning it won't survive without taxpayer support.
