Taka Taka Solutions is a company that has invested in equipment capable of recycling flexible plastics, which has created numerous job opportunities for waste pickers. To mark the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day, Safaricom Newsroom engaged with experts, environmental change champions, and plastic solutionists to delve into the concept of a circular economy for plastics and how this year's theme of #beatplasticpollution can be transformed into tangible action. Safaricom Newsroom also interviewed Jennifer Wang, Chief Sales Officer at Taka Taka Solutions, to discuss solutions to tackle this problem head-on. Safaricom has implemented measures to address plastic pollution, such as eliminating problematic plastics from cafeterias and reducing SIM card size.
