In this episode of Meet the Investor, host Joey Mouracadeh speaks with Regina Liu, APAC Head of Investment Specialists for International Equities at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Morgan Asset Management oversees more than US$1 trillion in equities globally, backed by a deep research platform and a long track record in active investing.

Regina outlines the firm’s Global Research Enhanced Index (REI) strategy — a benchmark-aware, fundamentally driven approach to equity investing that blends passive index construction with the insights of J.P. Morgan’s global research team. She explains how the REI strategy draws on the work of over 90 analysts covering 2,500 companies worldwide, whilst avoiding top-down sector and region bets, instead relying on bottom-up insights to seek incremental alpha while remaining closely aligned to the benchmark.

Joey and Regina also discuss how portfolio managers use proprietary tools and data analytics to support decision-making, why local, on-the-ground research remains essential even in an AI-driven world, and how volatility and macro uncertainty can create opportunities for active investors.
