In Episode 10 of Secret Level, we share a story from the development of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings that you probably don't know. This is the story of Gimli stunt double Brett Beattie. Beattie is the unsung hero of the making of the fantasy film trilogy. He spent more time playing Gimli than actor John Rhys-Davies! While Rhys-Davies provided the close-up shots and voice of Gimli, Beattie did everything else for the role. The dude has quite the incredible story of toil as he sustained major injuries playing Gimli. He was such a huge part of the projection that he was invited to get the famous tattoo with the rest of the main cast members! Beattie put his blood sweat and tears into these movies, but he never got the real credit he deserved. Brett Beattie is our hero, so we wanted to dedicate this episode to him.
