Welcome to episode 101. In this episode, I explore the many types of neurodivergence beyond just autism and ADHD (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and more), and challenge the media’s portrayal of neurodiversity as some kind of “new trend.” It’s not. These differences have always existed—and people now have the language and support to truly understand themselves. This episode is all about shifting from outdated thinking to a mindset rooted in empathy, curiosity, and genuine inclusion. Let’s dive in.

In this episode:

  • Neurodivergence includes more than autism and ADHD—conditions like dyslexia, dyspraxia, and dyscalculia are also valid and impactful differences in how brains work.
  • ‘’Everyone’s a bit on the spectrum’’ and other misconceptions – How “spectrum” refers to the range of experiences within a condition - not between neurotypical and neurodivergent people.
  • Why true inclusion requires moving beyond stereotypes and embracing diverse ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world.

Mentioned in this episode: The book AuDHD: Blooming Differently by Leanne Maskell
