Allen McDuffie and Jeff Yashinsky join Sports ‘N Torts for Episode 123. Jeff and Allen were my first bosses at my first law firm job after Law School at the Progressive In-House Law Firm. Jeff, along with our friend Tara Parker, were the ones who interviewed me while I was a 2nd year law student at UGA and somehow I convinced them to offer me a job. We had a great time reminiscing about all working together and we picked up like we had never left off. Whatever success I may have had as a lawyer – I owe a lot of it to these guys.

In this episode we discuss:

-the benefits of working for an insurance company early in one’s career;

-the training received at Progressive;

-how Jeff and Allen built chemistry at the office and created an environment where we all had fun, did great work and are all still friends 20 years later;

-how Allen handled Jeff when he wanted to quit as manager;

-learning and implementing management skills;

-work trips;

-importance of work lunches;

-their move from defense work to Plaintiffs work;

-Jeff's new job at the Schnyder Law Firm;

-Allen’s life as a baseball sports agent;

-Allen’s move towards retirement and his new career as a mediator and how his perspective from both P and D side give him an advantage in resolving cases;

-enjoying your kids sports career;

-Vanderbilt sports – baseball and football;

-Detroit sports and Jeff’s love for the Lions;

-Jägermeister

And so much more. We had an absolute blast getting together to record this episode and while you may not get some of the inside jokes I know you will still get a whole bunch out of this episode and will have fun listening to us talking about “Remember When”.

As always, this episode is powered by the J. Stein Law Firm – a personal injury law firm in Atlanta, Ga – www.jsteinlawfirm.com.
