Mallory Bateman, M.Sc., is the Director of Demographic Research and State Data Center Coordinator at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, where she leads population estimates, projections, and neighborhood-level analyses for Utah communities. As senior research associate and U.S. Census Bureau State Data Center coordinator, she helped lead Utah’s 2020 Census efforts and represents the state on both the National State Data Center Steering Committee and the American Community Survey Data Users Group Steering Committee. With expertise in urban planning and demographics, including generational shifts, household dynamics, commuting patterns, and fertility, she informs public and private decision-making across the state. She holds a BA in Urban Planning from the University of Utah and an MSc in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics.
