Joseph Kallinger was no ordinary killer. He was a father, a shoemaker, and a man driven by persistent voices only he could hear. Alongside his 12 year-old son, he carried out a series of brutal crimes that stunned the nation, including robbery, sexual assault, and cold-blooded murder. Behind every act of violence was a twisted belief that he was fulfilling a divine mission one that would ultimately end in betrayal, tragedy, and death.
The case of Joseph Kallinger remains to this day one of the most disturbing and bizarre cases in American true crime history.
