Welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, for June 11th. It’s National Make Life Beautiful Day, a day dedicated to spreading kindness, creativity, and positive energy – one small gesture at a time. Whether you're paying someone a compliment, picking up litter, or just choosing to smile at a stranger instead of scowling at their parking job, this day is about making the world a little more beautiful, starting right where you are. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more charming—it’s also Yarn Bombing Day. That’s right. The one day of the year when knitters and crocheters everywhere wrap trees, benches, statues, and light poles in vibrant, cozy yarn art. Because nothing says “beauty” quite like a traffic sign wearing a hand-knitted scarf. In honor of both holidays, I found a quote that stitches it all together—pun fully intended.
"The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it."
– Richard Bach
Now that’s a quote that speaks directly to today. Beauty isn’t always grand or dramatic. Sometimes it’s found in a perfectly timed smile, a pop of color in an unexpected place, or a warm patch of yarn wrapped around a lamppost. You don’t need to renovate your entire life to make it beautiful. You just need to notice and enjoy the lovely little moments—and maybe even create a few for someone else. So today, I challenge you to find one small way to add beauty to your corner of the world. Whether it's through a kind word, a generous act, or, yes, some suspiciously well-dressed shrubbery. That’s it for today’s episode. I’ll be back tomorrow with another quote to keep your day inspired. Until then, keep your eyes open for beauty—and don’t be surprised if it’s covered
