Are you wondering what you can be doing during elementary school to make sure your child is on track for college? In this episode, we connect with college access expert, Kendra Strange, to learn what we can be thinking about in the early years to make sure our children have the best chance for long-term academic success.

Join us as Kendra breaks down the ways that we as parents can play an important role in making sure our kids are setup for success. Kendra stresses the importance of parents making an effort to understand our children's unique interests, and fostering skills like creativity, resilience, and time management from an early age. We also discuss college affordability and the things you can be doing now to help your kids compete for scholarships when the time comes.

If you are looking for a way to give your child a competitive edge when college application time arrives, I recommend the free website and app, Khan Academy. For more information about how I'm leveraging Khan Academy to help my son improve his math skills, check out my Math Mastery workshop. It's completely free and has everything you need to get started today.

If your child needs extra help with math or reading, the Kumon program may be a good resource for you. If you are interested in getting your child assessed and learning more about the program, please reach out to your local Kumon and let them know you have a discount code. Use the code shareea.a.woods and you’ll get $25 off your registration fee and we will receive $25 to use to grow the podcast!
