I was not emotionally as prepared as I would have liked to have been for this episode to come out this early, but I knew it needed to be shared.

I know this episode will ruffle a few feathers, and that's ok. I'm sharing because it's a huge part of my life, the journey I have been on in the past few years, and why this podcast is in existence.

I purposely did not include the sexual trauma and abuse that my family has experienced within "the church" and how every church over multiple generations swept all instances under the rug. Those are not my stories to tell. I am acknowledging it here because how it was handled has never set well with me and again an example of it being a breeding ground for shame, guilt, and fear.

I also am adding a follow-up sentiment to my comment about Christians being riddled with cancer. This was a generalized blanket statement, and the point I was trying to make was that the body will always catch up to what we are energetically suppressing. Cancer stems from suppression (anger, grief, etc.) and this is what you will find in every church.

The resources I mentioned throughout the episode are the following:

HERStory - Jane Hardwicke Collings or listen to it on audio.

Witches, Midwives, & Nurses - Barbara Ehrenreich & Deirdre English
