When you write your own obituary, you get to have the last word. With your Gen X independent nature, that might be right up your alley.

If it's even a consideration, dip your toe in and just get started. It doesn't have to be a huge undertaking, and thoughtful processing can take months or years.
It's not necessarily easy to face our own mortality, but it is true that we're all going to die, so we might as well face it head on. And, when you write your obituary, you get to say what you want to say the way you want to say it.
