We've spoken before about the difficulties caregiving can present to those caring for a parent or child and the strain it can put on the relationships in a family. Sometimes it can feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. So what can we do to find the beautiful in the ashes and pain of caring for a loved one? We are so blessed to welcome Award-Winning Author and Speaker Shelly Beach to this episode of the Music for the Soul Podcast. Shelly talks about her deep understanding of caregivers' needs that comes from the years she took care of her father-in-law and then her own parents. She breaks down what caregivers need to do not only to provide optimal care to their loved one, but also how they can ensure they stay energetic, calm, and fulfilled by the promise of the Lord. Shelly also provides tips for what caregivers can do to find their "me time" and why they should ensure they focus on themselves in the midst of taking care of someone else. Finally, Shelly talks about why it is so important to start conversations with loved ones early to prevent the obligation of caregiving from straining relationships both emotionally and financially.
