In Virginia, this week, over 27,000 teachers and school staff are expected to vote on unionizing. If they win, it will be the largest union victory in decades. The organizing drives comes after Virginia granted collective bargaining rights to public employees in 2020. Virginia now has become one of the fastest-growing states for unions in the country. Payday Report spoke with Fairfax County Education Association President Lesli Houston about why the upsurge of organizing in Virginia.
