Join me for a conversation with playwrights Lucy Wright and and William Missouri-Downs, a Denver based husband and wife team who co-wrote Becky and Her Lung Transplant which will be featured as one of the four selected plays for this year’s Durango PlayFest readings. The play is a story full of twists and turns both as a comedy and a drama. Lucy and William have both won multiple awards for their previous plays that have been featured in the US and abroad. This week beginning Tuesday June 24 and running through Sunday June 29 is Durango PlayFest’s seventh annual event bringing professional playwrights, actors and directors to town from New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver and also includes local talent from Durango. During the week the plays will be workshopped up at Fort Lewis College which is an official partner of PlayFest where there are multiple opportunities for theatre students to be involved as volunteers and interns. This is a unique opportunity for Durango community members to become a part of the creative process of these developing plays through their feedback after each reading at the Arts Center. Becky and Her Lung Transplant is being dedicated to the memory of Christina Erteszek honoring her as a co-founder of PlayFest.

All performances will be at the Durango Arts Center and tickets can be purchased at the box office there or online at Durango PlayFest.org. Tickets are selling fast!
