When a dear former mentor shared just a snippet about Chonteau in an Instagram Story, something "pinged" in me and following intution we're blessed to have her share her journey through perimenopause and menopause - moonpause as she's dubbed it.

In this Sacred Conversation Chonteau, a retired social worker and practitioner of indigenous feminist teachings, shares her journey through menopause, which she refers to as "moon pause."

She describes a gentle transition marked by hot flashes and gradual changes in her menstrual cycle, culminating in her last bleed at age 44.

Chonteau emphasizes the importance of maintaining a relationship with her womb space and the moon cycle, incorporating practices like journaling, meditating, and using herbs.

She highlights the significance of understanding and working with the body's rhythms rather than against them, advocating for a holistic and non-clinical approach to menopause.

We explore the multifaceted experiences of menstruation and menopause. How it’s individual and different for each of us, and how important it is to not compare yourself with others but allow yourself to experience your own journey as it is.

We delve into the integration of emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects, and the importance of not separating these elements.

We discuss the concept of mastery as living one's best life and the beauty in the unfolding process of life stages.

Our conversation concludes with reflections on the wisdom and honor of elderhood.

Hop on over to the blog for all the deeds and details and in the comments let us know what you what your biggest takeaway is…

Big hug and loads of love. xo, Maria Saraphina
