We all know that Pittsburgh is home to some serious technology research chops. And those chops get even stronger when our universities work together!

On this episode of TechVibe, we welcome John Kitchin from Carnegie Mellon Universty and Paul Leu from the University of Pittsburgh to discuss how CMU joined the MDS Rely, a cooperative that promotes partnerships between industry, governmental organizations, and universities to advance research, innovation, and workforce development. Through close collaboration and the use of data science, learn how the center solves current challenges and advances understanding of essential materials.

Kitchin and Leu will discuss how MDS Rely includes industry partners like PPG and Eaton, and aims to enhance manufacturing and materials research, addressing challenges such as removing fluorinated compounds and advancing additive manufacturing. Founded in 2021 by Case Western Reserve University and the University of Pittsburgh, MDS-Rely is an NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center.
