Grieving, but make it uni
Manage episode 482183798 series 3607908
In this episode, I’m joined by my lovely friend Emily for a really open, honest and at times light-hearted conversation about something that so many people experience but often struggle to talk about – grieving while at university.
Emily also shares her own personal story of losing her lovely Nana whilst travelling Argentina with a friend. Emily reflects on how that distance added a whole new layer to her grief with having to make tricky decisions but chose to cherish the last moment she had with her Nana, holding onto that in her Grief. She reflects on their wonderful relationship and how lucky she felt to have had that, acknowledging how grief comes from an immense amount of love which can be a lovely sentiment to hold onto in what can be a really dark and lonely time.
If you’re grieving, supporting someone who is, or just wondering how to show up better in your friendships, I really hope this episode brings you some comfort and guidance, and even a good giggle as sometimes that is all we need!
We talk about:
- Talking to friends about grief at Uni
- Feeling far from home while grieving
- How to be a good friend to someone who's lost someone
- Emily’s story of losing her Nana
- Carrying love through grief
- Letting grief be part of life, not something to hide
Thank you so much for listening. If this resonates with you, I’d love if you shared it with someone who might need it too. You’re never alone in this xxxx
